How We Recycle Your Items.

  • Bric-a-Brac

    Bric-a-Brac

Items removed from a property during a clearance that could be reused are carefully put into crates and then taken to our warehouse. They are then placed into one of our retail schemes to find a new home.

  • Books

    Books

When books are in reusable condition we partner with a number of book reselling & redistribution partners based locally and regionally.

  • Clothing and Materials

    Clothing and Textiles

We come across a lot of clothing and bedding during house clearances. Some clothes can be resold and we work to to find them a new home in the local area. Where this isn’t possible due to style, size or condition we have a Salvation Army textiles bank on site which we fill. We use this for clothes shoes, bags, belts, and certain textiles.

  • Wood and Green Waste

If household items cannot be reused our next option is to recycle them. Anything made of, or containing wood that has reached the end life will be broken down and recycled into its various parts. This is sent to our main recycling partner McCarthy Marland in Tetbury where it will be chipped and reprocessed to be made into something else in the future.

  • GDPR Shredding and Glass

    GDPR Shredding and Glass

To ensure that the personal data of your family is preserved, we use locked GDPR compliant bins provided by Printwaste. They shred and dispose of personal data documents in line with legislation and best practice. They also provide our glass recycling service which is separated at our site and sent away to be turned into a raw material for reuse.

  • Household Electrical Items

    Household Electrical items

Most small electrical items can be PAT tested and used again. However, if they fail then they will be recycled for parts, we can reuse bulbs, plugs and lampshades and recycle the metal and wooden elements. Any large appliances that don’t pass the test gets collected by our partner WasteCare where they are stripped down and recycled.

  • The Home Remedy

    Furniture and Household Items

We are part of The Grace Network and that means we have a network of like minded social enterprises. The Home Remedy in both Stroud and Cirencester benefit from the furniture we collect from house clearances. In some cases we may collaborate with them to come to your property to collect themselves.

  • Children's Items, Toys and Games

Another social enterprise in our network, Kids’ Stuff, benefits from any Toys, Board Games, Highchairs and Buggies. Alternatively, you can items to them directly if you have the capacity.

  • Charlea Community Farm and Gardens

    Gardening Hand Tools

We are supporting the Charlea Community Farm and Gardens in Brimscombe which is where our home is. Every house has these tools in their sheds and garages and what better way to reuse them to donate them to a community organisation.
